On Wednesday night the Los Angeles Lakers got their revenge and beat the Houston Rockets in a rematch. The Rockets however were shorthanded as their star center Dwight Howard sat out with a sprained right knee. The injury drew some speculation since no one knew about it until shootaround. Some thought Howard was trying to avoid the media after the recent allegations that he beat his son with a belt buckle. Others thought Howard was avoiding Kobe Bryant after their altercation during the last game. Following the game Kobe said the words he said to Dwight during their incident were just said in the heat of the moment but before he hit the locker room he did an interview with ESPN and threw a shot at Dwight for missing the game.

Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade held his third annual Night on the RunWade event, Tuesday evening. The All-Star guard hosted the fundraiser, presented by Carnival Foundation, which included a cocktail reception, live entertainment, silent and live auctions and a fashion show presented by Hublot. The event raised funds for the children of the Wade’s World Foundation in Miami, Chicago and Milwaukee. Many of Wade’s teammates attended including Mario Chalmers, Shabazz Napier and Chris Bosh. When Wade posted a picture of him, Gabrielle Union, Bosh and his wife Adrienne, everyone noticed something about Bosh’s pants.

Toronto Raptors fans weren’t happy with the way Vince Carter left town and since being traded during the 2004-05 season, he hasn’t always received a warm welcome whenever he returned to the Air Canada Centre. Vince Carter, with his mom sitting in her old courtside seat, shed some tears as fans gave him a roaring standing ovation.

It was an exciting matchup as expected as the NBA Champions took on LeBron and the new look Cavaliers. The game came down to the wire as Manu Ginobli hit 1-of-2 freethrows giving the Spurs a 92-90 lead. The Cavaliers had 9 seconds to hit a shot to tie or win the game when James was dribbling to half court and lost control of the ball, committing his fifth and final turnover of the game. Ginobli recovered the ball and dribbled it out as the clock ran down. When the buzzer hit LeBron simply put his hand up taking blame for the loss and walked off the court.
