(Photos) Whoops! Volunteers Mess Up Paint Job At Woodside Park!

Volunteers in the Queens area used their own money to paint the seating area near the Doughboy statue at Woodside’s Doughboy Park, but the city’s Parks Department couldn’t be any less appreciative. In fact, they’re downright pissed, and have plans to re-paint now, as the bright green color is not what they’d wanted. “Doughboy Park, including the area around the park’s historic war memorial, was recently painted by a group of local veterans and community volunteers. The Parks Department appreciates their stewardship but details of this painting, including the color of the war memorial area, were not shared with us,” a Parks Department spokesman wrote in a statement.
