NBA: James Harden Says He’s the Best Point Guard & Player in the League

I remember back when James Harden was playing with the Oklahoma City Thunder and many fans were clamoring for him to be the point guard and move Russell Westbrook to shooting guard.  Alas, it never quite happened and Harden was shipped off to the Houston Rockets when the Thunder declined to give him what he was worth.  Harden remained a shooting guard on the Rockets, but this season with Mike D’Antoni at head coach, Harden has been moved to the 1 and it’s worked out.

NBA Report: Denver Nuggets Considering Firing Coach Brian Shaw & Hiring Mike D’Antoni

Brian Shaw is in his second year of coaching the Denver Nuggets.  So far the team hasn’t been playing very well and currently has a 13-20 record and the 12th spot in the Western Conference.  Granted the Western Conference is pretty difficult but the Nuggets have some talented players and are expected to do better.  So Shaw’s job security is in question.  Remember this is the team that fired George Karl right after he won Coach of the Year.

NBA: Jeanie Buss Says Lakers Chose to Build Around Steve Nash Not Dwight Howard

The Los Angeles Lakers infamous coaching decision is still one that has people scratching their heads.  Rather than re-hiring legendary coach Phil Jackson, they decided to go with Mike D’Antoni.  Jim Buss has long maintained that it was a decision made by his father Jerry Buss from his hospital bed.  Jerry reportedly wanted a return to the uptempo Showtime Lakers and Jim wanted to make his first big decision for the team.  It might have been more than that though, according to Jeanie Buss the Lakers chose to build around Steve Nash not Dwight Howard.

NBA: Jordan Hill Says He Only Re-signed With the Lakers Because Mike D’Antoni Left

Apparently no one was fond of coach Mike D’Antoni and they’re all happy he’s gone.  It’s no secret that Kobe Bryant didn’t respect him, Pau Gasol didn’t like riding the bench under him and now Jordan Hill is speaking out.

NBA: Mike D’Antoni Resigns as Head Coach of Lakers; Magic Johnson is Thrilled

Last night the Lakers announced that Mike D’Antoni resigned as the Lakers head coach.  Most were happy about it — he coached the Lakers to a 27-55 record this season, the worst 82-game mark in franchise history.  We haven’t heard from Kobe yet, but Magic Johnson was quick to share his happiness on Twitter.  Check out what happened…

NBA: Lakers Unlikely to Fire Coach Mike D’Antoni

After a series of discussions following a stretch of historically bad losses this week, the Los Angeles Lakers do not believe that an in-season coaching change will help the team and remain inclined to support Mike D’Antoni over the final 19 games of the season, sources with knowledge of the situation told ESPN.
