(Video) March Madness: Ohio State’s D’Angelo Russell Puts VCU Defender On The Floor With Killer Move

D’Angelo Russell will be a very high draft pick in June, likely to be selected in the top five. Yesterday his Ohio State team pulled off an exciting win over VCU in the round of 64 in the NCAA tournament, and Russell managed to drop a jaw breaking play in there during his 28 point night. I must be the only person in the country who doesn’t think this ankle breaking play was as bad as it looked. It appears more like the defender kinda dove at the ball more than Russell did anything super special, but since so many people disagree with me I might as well put it up for you guys to enjoy and tell me I must be blind.

(Photos) Sports: Dayton University Goes Crazy With Huge Party That Needs Riot Police After Sweet 16 Win

These kids at Dayton damn sure know how to party. Even the president of the university got in on the action in the middle of the night. After the basketball team beat Stanford last night to win in the sweet 16 and advance to the elite 8 of the NCAA tournament, the campus celebrated like it was project X. The school has not been this far in the tournament in 30 years and they have knocked out some heavyweight schools like Ohio State and Syracuse along the way. Police in riot gear had to take over and start marching down the streets after glass bottles were being thrown and fires were being set. Some students said they were threatened by police with bodily harm if they did not leave the area. Comes with the territory at a college party. Hit the jump for the pics.

(Video) March Madness: Mercer Players Style On Duke With Nae-Nae Dance After Huge Win

Some people might take this as being disrespectful by doing it on the court, but the way the kids from Mercer are feeling today you can’t tell them nothing, nor should you. They just pulled off the biggest win in school history and hit the nae-nae like they were in the club.

March Madness: Upset Alert! Huge Underdog Mercer University Takes Down Duke 78-71

Everyone’s brackets are now officially destroyed. But this is why you have to love March Madness. #14 seed Mercer defeated #3 Duke 78-71 just a short time ago to pull off the biggest upset of the tournament so far. Mercer was a huge underdog, but with a bunch of seniors on the team who knew how to stick together, they outworked and outplayed the younger top recruits that Duke had. The last time Mercer even made the tournament was back in 1985 and not a single player on the team was born yet. Maybe Mercer stole a little magic from the Florida Gulf Coast team that made headlines last year in the tournament after being huge underdogs and beating a couple nationally ranked teams. Mercer had to beat that same team last week for the right to get in the NCAA tournament. They may very well lose the next game they play but nobody will ever be able to take away the feeling they have right now after that win.

(Video) March Madness: Texas Breaks The Hearts Of Arizona State With This Buzzer Beater To Advance

Yesterday was a crazy first day of the NCAA tournament with 4 games going to overtime and countless others coming down to the end. The Texas Longhorns and the Arizona State Sun Devils thought they might be headed for overtime themselves tied at 85 with only seconds left. But Texas big man Cameron Ridley picked up a loose ball and laid it in just over the outstretched arm of a Arizona State defender as the clock expired sending Texas to the next round and sending Arizona State home.

March Madness:(Video) Ohio State Hits Dramatic Buzzer Beater To Move On

Feels sometimes that you see more buzzer beaters in the NCAA tournament each year than you do all season. Ohio State has now done it 2 games in a row. Last weekend they beat Iowa State 78-75 when guard Aaron Craft hit a big shot at the buzzer to advance. Last night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, lightning struck twice. LaQuinton Ross hit a dramatic 3 point shot just before the buzzer to life Ohio State past Arizona in the Sweet 16. If you ever been that little kid who dreamed of hitting the game winning shot, you could not of made up a better scenario. Check out the shot after the jump.
