Mary J. Blige Opens Up About Her Painful Past & Overcoming Abuse!

The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul is back at it with her new documentary The London Sessions which documents the recording process of her 13 albums recorded in the UK. With the help from Sam Smith, Disclosure, Emeli Sandé, Naughty Boy and Sam Romans, the 45-minute special shows both the good and the bad of her life, pin-pointing the hardships she’s went through over the years including abuse and drama. When asked about taking responsibility for her own mistakes she said, “It was a disastrous. And a lot of it came from not paying attention; a lot of it came from just trusting the wrong people. And it was a wake up call, it was a huge humongous wake up call for me to say ‘Look, you don’t need any of these people around and I’m going to make sure that you see how fast they run when this happens.’ And it was just the biggest wake up call ever.”
