The Specialty Equipment Market Association show in Las Vegas is about glitz and glamor, outrageousness and excess. But a unique Mustang unveiled Wednesday takes all of that and channels it for charity.
The customized Mustang will be auctioned in January at the Barrett-Jackson sale in Arizona to benefit SEMA Cares. The organization will distribute the proceeds to two children’s charities, Childhelp and the Victory Junction Gang Camp.
Last year, a similarly styled Chevrolet Camaro shown at SEMA was auctioned for $75,000.
The WD-40/SEMA Cares Mustang has an eye-catching yellow and blue paint job. WD-40 purchased the Mustang GT and the car is painted in company colors.
The Mustang has a supercharged engine producing 539 horsepower and 456 pounds feet of torque. Various suppliers such as Paxton, Hotchkis and Magnaflow donated the parts, and customizer Street Scene coordinated the build.
