Jay-Z referenced Hammer’s name in a non-menacing way on So Appalled, Hammer took offense, released an [awful] diss track, Jay laughed because he actually praises Hammer in his upcoming book, Hammer put his foot in his mouth, calls Jay a genius for “blindsiding” him (LOL…doesn’t take much, huh?), Hammer realizes that no one really cares and “squashes” the “beef”. In a statement to AllHipHop, Hammer said,
“As a responsible veteran of twenty something years of this [Hip-Hop]. I can’t leave it out there with tensions. I am reading comments on both sides, it’s not about that, I have seen all of that before. There is an opportunity to say at some point. We onto the next thing. You know, Jay took his shot and I answered. Now let’s move on.â€
Oh don’t worry, Hammer. We moved on before this even started.
