Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt has been charged with two counts of resisting arrest in yet another brush with New Jersey law enforcement, The Jersey Journal reported Thursday.

Britt, 22, was reportedly arrested late Wednesday night by narcotics officers in Hoboken, N.J., less than 48 hours after pleading guilty to an unrelated careless driving charge.

According to a court document obtained by The Journal, Britt refused to open his hand after being ordered to do so by police.

The report also alleges Britt used his body “to push away from the officers” and pulled away his arm “while not allowing the officers to handcuff” him.

According to The Journal, one of the charges is a third-degree crime, which carries a possible sentence of three to five years in prison.

Hoboken police have not confirmed the charges or the details surrounding the arrest of the oft-troubled wide receiver, according to The Journal.

The former Rutgers star has been issued a summons to appear in court June 16 following his latest encounter with New Jersey police.

Britt was arrested April 12 in his hometown of Bayonne, N.J., about 10 miles from New York City, after police spotted him traveling 71 mph in a 50 mph zone.

Police said Britt tried to elude them by weaving a blue Porsche in and out of lanes before eventually pulling over. Britt and a passenger then got out of the car and initially claimed to police they had not been in the vehicle.

The passenger, 23-year-old Jerel Lord reportedly fled as officers ran a computer check and was later caught and arrested after admitting to tossing a marijuana cigarette out of his pocket.

Britt was also arrested in January 2010 for not paying $865 in outstanding traffic warrants. He was accused of punching a man in a Nashville bar fight in October of last year but was not charged by police.

Britt had 42 catches for 775 yards and nine touchdowns last season for Tennessee in 12 games.
