Reading this article gave me a good laugh! Not because I’m appalled that its giving men a reason to lie, but yet that in a sense, women do frequently ask questions that they DO NOT want the real answer to! I personally would like to ALWAYS be told the truth, even if it gets me upset; but I know plenty if girls who don’t mind being lied to if it makes them feel good. Check it out after the jump!

[AskMen] – Lying is never good. And this isn’t just because you’re swimming in some very murky ethical waters and should be demanding higher standards from yourself. It’s also because it’s all too easy to get tangled in a web of deceit from which it grows harder and harder to extricate yourself, as lies compound on more lies. Lying just doesn’t work, and it’s not the way any man should conduct his affairs…

…except when it comes to women. With the females of the species, it’s a completely different ballgame. The gulf between the sexes — misunderstandings, miscommunications and misrepresentations — hasn’t changed much over the years, despite the self-serving attempts of “feminism.”

Women are certainly not above telling “white lies,” or even bald-faced ones, if it serves their purposes (“size doesn’t matter,” “we can still be friends,”), while at the same time demanding total honesty from men.

lying is smart

So should you always be honest with her? The answer is no — not if you know what’s good for you. The truth is, you can’t afford to always tell the truth if you want to keep your relationship healthy. Sometimes you just have to hedge your bets a little with a little creative sugarcoating.

Women say they want men to be honest, but if you are, the only thing you’ll be going home with is an armful of DVDs from the back room of the video store. The truth is, women force men to lie. The majority of women out there won’t even bother to have a conversation with a man unless he has the right job, owns a house in a geographically-desirable area, and earns a large salary.

So if the average guy wants to score a date, he’s compelled to “upgrade” his job description a few increments or pretend his BMW’s in the shop just to get a woman’s digits.

A man will be constrained to submerge his true personality and adjust his opinions in the hope of getting a little sex. And instead of allowing men to express themselves openly and honestly, most women force men to be “politically correct,” sometimes even at the threat of losing their jobs.

This isn’t honesty — it’s catering to an extremely sexist society, biased toward women. Of course, she’ll wear makeup, dye her hair, and put on a padded bra, and it won’t even occur to her that she’s deceiving anyone (including herself).

So if you want to start dating, or keep a relationship up and running, you’re going to have to tread carefully through this minefield of her creation. Simply put, if you want to keep her happy and keep getting laid, you’re going to have to learn how to lie — and lie convincingly.

She demands it. The trick is in knowing what she wants to hear, even if it means seriously stretching the truth. And this means you always have to be on guard for her questions.

What kinds of questions? Loaded questions — questions guaranteed to doom you if you answer them truthfully. Unfair questions. Make no mistake about it — these are tests, and your chances of getting some nookie depend entirely on how you perform.

Here are a few to look out for:

  • How many women have you slept with?
  • Do you think she’s pretty? (About another woman.)
  • Do you think I’ve gained weight/need to start working out/look fat in this dress?
  • What do you think of my looks?
  • How do you feel about me/where is our relationship going?
  • What are you thinking about?
  • Remember, there’s always a huge gulf between what she’s asking and what she really wants to hear. So if she’s quizzing you about her weight or about another woman’s looks, then let’s be honest — she knows she’s packed on a few pounds and she’s not anywhere near as gorgeous as that 25-year-old bombshell with the perfect 36-Ds and bare, flat midriff.

At this point you have a few options:

You can say nothing and hope it all goes away. This is not a good move, because if you keep your mouth shut she’ll know exactly what you’re thinking (that she’s fat and that you’d really rather have sex with the 25-year-old).

You can wuss out and stammer some gushy compliments about how pretty she is that sound insincere even to your ears. This is not a good idea either, because you’re just handing over all your male power and letting her control the relationship.

You can tell her the brutal truth (drop 20 pounds and the only way you’ll ever look that good is via reincarnation). This really isn’t a good idea, unless you enjoy about a week of the ice-cold silent treatment, sleeping alone, and probably no sex ever again.

You can lie. Bingo! Take her hands, look deep into her eyes with all the supreme male confidence you can muster and tell her she’s the most desirable, beautiful woman you’ve ever seen. Don’t even respond directly to her questions. Sure, it’s a scam, and she knows it’s a scam, but you’re coming from a position of strength, not weakness. Remember, she wants you to lie. She expects you to lie. It’s all part of the mental games she forces you to play. In the end, you can make her feel like a million bucks. And the more she feels like a million bucks, guess what? The more she’s going to want to have sex with you, so mission accomplished.

    lie for the better

Overall, lying is a bad thing to do. But when it comes to women, you really have no choice. The truth is, telling a few lies can be one of the best ways to keep your relationship healthy.

All you have to do is tell her exactly what she wants to hear.
