We first heard of the Motorola Droid 4 at the beginning of the month when the name popped up in Verizon’s system. It was later rumored to land on December 8 — a date also rumored for the Galaxy Nexus — and we’ve even seen training documents for the device.

Following all the above we now have what appear to be official specs for the Motorola Droid 4. The 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM are similar to the Droid RAZR but there’s a smaller four-inch qHD screen apparently on the Droid 4. The phone slides out to reveal a five-row QWERTY keyboard and there’s a 4G/LTE-capable radio inside, plus an eight-megapixel main camera in addition to the HD front-facer. The internal storage is listed as 16GB.

The battery, which is of 1,785mAh doesn’t seem to be easily replaceable as there is a “rear cover removal tool” you will probably need to use to access the SIM card slot as well as the microSD. How do you like the Droid 4 so far?
