The Sheriff’s Office in Broward County, Florida, is seeking Antoinne Robert Hester, who is reportedly the brother of Bears receiver Devin Hester, in the July 4 shooting death of 20-year-old Bevins Bennett.
FOX Chicago News reports that law enforcement has been in contact with Devin Hester in connection with the matter. Antoinne Hester’s relationship to Devin Hester was first reported by Jon Leiberman of HLN TV.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office says that Bennett and Antoinne Hester were in a car together early in the morning on July 4 when Bennett was shot. The driver of the car took Bennett to a nearby emergency room, where Hester got out of the car and ran off. The motive for the shooting is unclear.
This is the second time this year that the brother of an NFL player has been accused of murder. Michael Davis, the 19-year-old brother of 49ers tight endVernon Davis and Dolphins cornerback Vontae Davis, was charged with first-degree murder in May.
