KCNC, CBS’s Denver affiliate, first reported the arrest, and the station reports that Dumervil was arrested Saturday night. The station reported Dumervil was held on $7,500 bail.

Dumervil was released from the Dade County jail on Saturday, according to jail records. Details of what led to the arrest are not yet available, and calls to the Dade County sheriff’s offense have not been returned.

A third-degree felony is punishable by up to five years in prison.

Dumervil, 28, is a Miami native and spends his offseason there, though he was in Denver for much of the team’s voluntary offseason program and for the mandatory minicamp last month.

Broncos players are set to report to training camp on July 25.

The team has been in contact with police officials in Miami today, and released the following statement:

“Our organization is aware of the matter and is continuing to gather facts. This is a very serious allegation, and we will thoroughly review the details while the legal process runs its course.”

Dumervil is a two-time Pro Bowler and one of the longest-tenured Broncos. He had 9.5 sacks in 14 games last year despite playing through injuries. He missed all of 2010 with a torn pectoral muscle.

The Broncos are already bracing to be without longtime starter D.J. Williams. The linebacker has been suspended by the NFL for the first six games for violating the league’s banned substance policy.

Williams is also preparing for an August trial on a DUI charge. Williams could face additional punishment from the league if convicted because he previously plead guilty to a drunk driving charge in 2005.
