Will Smith has a squeaky clean image and has maintained that since the start of his career…I mean, he doesn’t even curse in his raps! But there was one hiccup way back in the day that could have tarnished that image, had he not been able to keep it under wraps for so long! Days after he’d won his first Grammy in 1989, Will ran into a bit of an issue with record promoter William Hendricks, and basically, told his bodyguard to handle that…if you know what I mean. Hendricks ended up with a fracture in his left eye and needed six stitches, and Will was actually arrested and charged with aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, simple assault and criminal conspiracy! Luckily, the charges were eventually dropped. More details and the mugshot below.

(RO) – “Will had to spend a night in the cell at the West Philadelphia police station with other inmates waking him up all night long and asking for his autograph,” an insider told the Enquirer.

“It was the worst night of his life. He wants to forget it ever happened.”

Despite the Enquirer revelation, Smith maintains his innocence.

In a 2005 interview, he insisted: “It wasn’t my fault. That’s what they all say! But it wasn’t my fault. This is back in Philly. One of my buddies beat up this dude, and I was there. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.”

Kind of gives big Willie more of an edge, huh? LOL!
