The safety has been a starter in Atlanta since 2010 and picked off four passes in 12 games last season. He missed the last four games of the regular season with a hamstring injury, but replaced San Francisco 49ers safety Donte Whitner in the Pro Bowl.

Moore wanted to stay in Atlanta all along, and was a priority for the organization. He had a career-high 75 tackles in 2012 and has 11 interceptions in the last three seasons combined. Details of the contract were unavailable, though he was expected to command Michael Griffin money (five years, $35 million).

The three-day negotiation period started at midnight, but things have been quiet because the league threatened teams with tampering investigations if deals were reached before Tuesday. Moore shouldn’t fall into that category since he re-signed with his own team.
