I guess this mother had enough discrimination against her breast feeding in public, she decided to lash out! Hit the jump to see the breast-feeding confrontation!

Lucy Eades, a mother of four, was nursing her 16 month old baby when asked if she could cover up at a recreation center in Burleson, Texas. While attending her daughters dance class, the mother decided to begin nursing the baby, soon after she was approached by an employee, this sparked the confrontation. Her husband seemed to have had his smart phone in hand and decided to capture the whole ordeal!

With baby in hand, still feeding, Eades confronted the woman, stating: “It is state law, I can nurse my child with or without a cover”

The mother seems to have a point on that one, and in fact Texas is one of the 45 states that has specific laws accommodating mothers that breast feed. Th law allows for the act to place ” in any public or private” setting. Eades was the second mom to be asked to cover up that day and after the father spoke up against the employee, she finally walked away.

The city of Burleson released a lengthy statement in their defense:

“The City of Burleson supports breastfeeding and appreciates recognition of National Breastfeeding Week. The city also supports the law, which states, “A mother is entitled to breast-feed her baby in any location in which the mother is authorized to be.” Today, two women were breastfeeding in or near a public entrance to the city’s recreation center where we were hosting a camp for youth ages 5 – 13 in addition to other recreation center patrons. To be respectful of everyone’s rights we asked the women to cover up. There is nothing in the law that prohibits the city from requiring a mother to cover up. We also offered a room in an attempt to be more accommodative. The city did not attempt to prohibit breastfeeding and we fully support the freedom of mothers to breastfeed as long as it doesn’t infringe on someone else’s freedom.”

What do you guys think?! To Breast-Feed in public? or not to breast-feed in public?!
