An innocent LA Couple who were shot by deputy officials multiple times, goes from being homeless to having millions after law suit! Hit the jump for more detail!
The couple Angel Mendez and his then fiancé Jennifer, had been sleeping in a shack on a friends property when chaos broke out amongst them by police officials. The L.A sheriffs deputies, bombarded the property in hopes to find a parolee in 2010, when they claimed they saw a weapon that looked like a BB Gun and began shooting. 14 shots hit Angel Mendez, while one hit the then pregnant Jennifer in the back.
“I kept screaming for them to ‘stop shooting, stop shooting, my fiance is pregnant, it’s just a BB gun,’” Angel stated.
Angel Mendez who’s leg had to be amputated after the catastrophic event and Jennifer were awarded $4.1 million after a judge ruled ” that their civil rights had been violated”. Wow looks like a happy ending to this horrid story!
