State police responded to a car accident around 6 a.m. on a highway north of New York City, causing the deaths of four, Hit the jump for more details!

A car jumped a guardrail on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Greenburgh about 20 miles from New York City this morning. The deadly crash resulted in the deaths of the four passengers after the car not only jumped the guardrail but also caught on fire and hit a structure.

“Police tell Westchester County’s Journal News that the rental Volkswagen Golf was traveling north when it rolled over the guardrail onto a grassy shoulder and hit a bridge abutment by an overpass”

Officials stated that the impact of the crash was so severe on the victims disfigured bodies that they were unable to tell their genders immediately. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
