Although on opposite sides of the map, M.I.A and Janelle Monae were able to join forces and perform together through a hologram experience! The two talented artists delivered a huge surprise to the West and East Coast crowds, when their digital images appeared across the stage.
As Janelle Monae took over the Quixote Studio with a 40 minute set, she surprised the audience by introducing a hologram of the force that is M.I.A! The digital M.I.A. then added an extra verse to Monae’s hit ‘Q.U.E.E.N.’
“I wish I were in the audience because I’m sure it looked cooler from the audience, but it felt great,” Janelle stated. “I felt M.I.A.’s spirit up there,”
While over on the East coast, M.I.A performed in New York’s SIR Stage 37, before bringing out a hologram of Janelle Monae, to give her added verse of M.I.A’s hit ‘Bad Girls’. M.I.A spoke on the hologram experience and admitted that she enjoys the digital use, and wouldn’t mind being a constant holographic image; “I could be in 10 places at once.”
The digital event was sponsored in celebration of the launch of the Audi A3.
