April 25, 2014 (New York, NY) – Celebrity Photographer and Director, Jonathan Mannion, famously known for his iconic portraits turned album covers, is set to release his exclusive capsule collection with the AKOO Clothing Co. to hit stores by May 1st, 2014. Photos by Mannion will grace apparel making his pieces wearable art in this collaboration.

Mannion, who has shot the likes of Hip-Hop elites including T.I., Eminem, Jay-Z, DMX, Nas, Snoop Dogg, Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Rick Ross has also shot David Beckham, Tyra Banks, America’s Next Top Models, Dwyane Wade, Kobe Bryant and Lance Armstrong.

The concept for this capsule collection was born, ironically enough, from a photo that hung in the AKOO design studio for over a year. This visual inspiration led Ralph Reynolds, Founder and Co-Owner of AKOO and it’s parent company RP55 Group, to Mannion, whom he already knew from a past shoot with T.I. Reynolds reached out to Mannion recalling, “I called and he was stranded in the studio answering and using the office phone because of Hurricane Sandy, it had just hit! For the first time really talking we ended up sharing a few things with each other probably because of the Hurricane. We talked about using the photo hanging in our design studio and thought, why use one photo when we can do a full delivery collaboration!”

His artistic eye and being able to capture unique visuals of the culture was in sync with the brand’s core DNA of creating quality garments of taste and distinction. Moments captured by Mannion in his 20 plus years of documentation fall right in line with the “street chic” or “urban luxury” trends that are currently being seen in fashion, on celebrities and today’s youth.

Vice President of Marketing at RP55 Group/AKOO Clothing Co., Sabai Burnett, says, “We’re very excited about this groundbreaking collaboration with Jonathan Mannion and being able to share his work with the world via this collection. This is one of many projects we have coming up for 2014 that will prove the AKOO Clothing Co. stands to be a force to be reckoned with in men’s contemporary urban apparel.”

Canvases for the iconic black and white photos in this collection will be available on tanks and short-sleeve, high-quality t-shirts in white, black, grey or red. Styles will be available for purchase online at http://shop.akooclothingbrand.com and at select stores, retailing from $36 to $80.
