Though it’s lost a lot of it’s luster, people still want to see a boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.  The two fighters have been taking shots at each other and there’s even been reports that the fight will happen.  Those reports may not be the most reliable but Floyd’s own father Floyd Mayweather Sr. also believes the big match will come.

BT: Floyd’s only got two fights left on that Showtime contract. Ultimately it’ll be his decision, but as his father, are you ready to see him hang ’em up or do you think there’s still some unfinished business for him out there?

FMS: No, no, no. Man, I’m pretty sure that if don’t nothing else happen, I’m pretty sure he’s gonna get Pacquiao.

BT: You think so?

FMS: Yes. Exactly.

BT: For number 50 maybe?

FMS: Well, it might be number 49. Floyd’s gonna kick his little ass.

BT: But Big Floyd, do you really think that fight is going to happen? I mean, do you honestly think Bob Arum and Al Haymon are going to sit down and make that fight happen?

FMS: Ummmm…it’s gonna happen. That fight’s gonna happen. Trust me. That fight’s definitely gonna happen. It’s a fight for the world, man, right there. It’s the biggest fight that has ever been in life, so like I said man, that fight’s gonna happen. I’ma tell you right now, he never told me the fight’s gonna happen, but I’ma tell you, the fight’s gonna happen. You mark my words and we’ll see. And it needs to happen. Just like Ali and Joe Frazier, or Ali and George Foreman, something like that, man, it’s one of those fights like that. The world wants to see it and they’ll want to see it again when Floyd beats Pacquiao. I’m pretty sure Floyd is gonna make it look where people are going to want to see it again, because I’m just saying, Floyd’s gonna pick Pacquiao apart, man.

BT: If it doesn’t happen, do you think people will always wonder…

FMS: (Cutting in) Well, a lot of people are going to say, “Floyd was scared of Pacquiao. Floyd was this, that, and the other.” Floyd is not scared of Pacquiao, man. Believe me as I tell you today. Floyd done beat motherfuckers that done beat Pacquiao. What’s his name? The one that knocked Pacquiao out. Marquez. How in the hell is he going to beat Floyd when Floyd took Marquez to school. I mean, it’s just going to be the same thing. Matter of fact, it’s going to be easier because Pacquiao is tailor-made for Floyd. He’s tailor-made to eat the right hand all day long. You gotta remember, Pacquiao is a southpaw. He’s a southpaw and Floyd is right-handed, so he’ll eat right hands and left hooks all night, and more than likely, he will be going to sleep again. Believe me!
