MC Hammer has nothing on Manny Pacquiao. To the people in the Philippines, Pacquiao is like a God and it’s because he does A LOT for his people. It’s also why Pacquiao has money troubles but I won’t get into that. The Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao bout is the fight of century and thousands of people want to attend. The prices are incredibly high; as a fighter you might be able to score a ticket or two for your family but for 900 people?! Yea you gotta pay for that and Pacquiao shelled out some big bucks!
According to Sports Illustrated, much of Pacquiao’s entourage traveled on a bus with his face on it, from LA to Las Vegas. The bus is filled with Pacquiao’s friends and relatives and friends of relatives and relatives of friends. There are nine pastors. There is the usual driver, Mitch Carter, piloting Team Pacquiao toward Vegas’s neon lights. And there are two organizers, James Taruc and Lady Bernal, in charge of the guest list (which changes often), and is approved by Pacquiao and his security team.
According to the Bloody Elbow, Pacquiao snagged a $3 – $4M block of seats to hand out to 900 members of his entourage.
Top Rank also posted a picture on Twitter of Pacquiao personally handing out hundreds of hotel room keys to members of his entourage.
