Yesterday everyone was stunned to see the footage of the San Antonio Spurs completely wasted after a night of partying after they were eliminated from the playoffs. So where was the stern coach Gregg Popovich? Well it turns out, he organized and paid for everything!
According to TMZ Sports, Popovich paid for a fancy steak dinner, drinks and a party bus to thank his players.
Their Spurs sources claim Coach Gregg Popovich wanted to show his appreciation to his players after they were eliminated from the playoffs Saturday night, so he organized a night out in Hollywood.
He set up a post-game steak dinner at Mastros in Beverly Hills and paid for EVERYTHING (and this place sure as hell ain’t cheap).
Afterward, Pop hired a party bus to chauffeur the guys to Project Club L.A. and encouraged the team to “take their minds off the game and let loose”, not wallow in their sorrows.
The guys did just that – some harder than others – and as I previously posted, Patty Mills was hammered and carried back by a team official and Aron Baynes was totally wasted and carried back to the bus by Tim Duncan. Well at least the guys had a good time together, it might’ve been the last time they played as a team.
