The contract that Stevie Wonder signed so many years ago, stated that Stevie would pay Johanan 6% of all music royalties. However in the contract there’s a clause that states payments to the lawyer’s family go on “forever.”

After Vigoda’s death back in 2011, the record company continued to pay his wife. According to Stevie, he had no idea that payments were still being made for nearly two years after the lawyer’s death. When he was made aware of the situation, he order for the payments to stop. He claims he was never told the 6% would continue after the death of his once trusted friend and lawyer.

Because of the betrayal Stevie has asked the judge to declare an end to these payments. Howver, Vigor’s widow has filed her own lawsuit demanding that Stevie continue to pay indefinitely. She’s looking for a minimum of $7 million.

Sheesh! This seem like a situation thats going to get really messy. What do you think? Should he have to continue to pay the widow, after being tricked into signing the contract? Sound off in the comments.
