New Orleans police are trying to find a man on the run who was seen on camera shooting medical student, Peter Gold, who was trying to stop the man from attacking a woman. The New Orleans Police Department has actually released the video in hopes that someone will identify this man and turn him in.

The police released a statement on the incident saying,

“The victim drove up and attempted to assist the woman at which point the suspect pointed a gun at him and demanded money.The victim explained to the suspect repeatedly that he did not have any cash. The suspect became enraged and shot the victim once in the stomach. The unknown woman was not injured during the incident.”

The suspect actually attempted to shoot the victim three times after the first but the gun had jammed.
Gold was taken to the hospital in critical condition Friday. Reports say he is now doing better. His school, Tulane University is offering a $10,000 reward to anyone who gives the police information that will lead to the suspects arrest.

Michael A. Fitts, the schools president released a statement saying,

“I am shocked and saddened by this horrific event. I ask that you keep Peter and his family in your thoughts and prayers. He is an outstanding student who represents the best of Tulane in every possible way.”

Police are also offering a $2,500 reward.
