Steven Avery’s lawyer Kathleen Zeller is feeling really confident about getting her client out of jail. Zellner says “The inventible is coming.” Avery is now serving jail time for the murder of Teresa Halbach.
Zeller has released a statement saying,
“It’s the evidence. In having had a number of these cases, it has the signature of a wrongful conviction case. They only focused on him. They did not look at a lot of other suspects, certainly some very key people they should have been looking at. There was a very poor investigation done of the victim’s background, who she was involved with, the circumstances of her life. It had all of the hallmarks of a wrongful conviction case.”
Brendan Dassey is Avery’s nephew. Dassey was convicted for allegedly helping his uncle commit the murder. Nothing has been said about him as of yet. Journalist Dan O’Donnell did a story covering Avery’s trial and he claims that Dassey was sexually assaulted by his uncle. Zeller has released a few tweets regarding the case and why she think things will work in her favor.
We shall keep an eye out on this case.
