Peyton Manning will announce his retirement tomorrow afternoon, ending one of the greatest careers in all of professional sports. Although the move was expected, the fact that it is actually happening is bringing out all types of love and affection from his peers. Manning changed the game and brought it to even greater heights and will retire as the owner of the most quarterback records in the history of the league.

Per a league source, Manning began sending individual text messages to teammates late last night, informing them of his plans to retire.

To their credit, the teammates opted for discretion, allowing the news to be broken in the way that Peyton wanted it to be broken.

This morning, everyone from his rival Tom Brady to Allen Iverson showed the sheriff some love and you can bet over the next 24-48 hours there will be plenty of other sports greats sending their respect as well.

Manning retires as the record holder for most career passing yards, most passing yards in a season, most career touchdown passes, most passing touchdowns in a season, most career wins, five time MVP and so much more!

The league itself will no doubt miss him on the field and as an ambassador off the field. Part of the reason his legend is so big is because of all the things he did away from the game.

This past season wasn’t pretty but it still ended with the ultimate goal of a Super Bowl championship and there couldn’t be a better way to him to ride off.
