Gene Baker says he did this because the neighbors were giving him problems. Derrick Johnson, president of the Mississippi NAACP says,

“Racial discrimination should be a thing of the past in Mississippi, considering our long history.”

Erica says she and her family wanted to get their life on track so they rented the RV. She gave Baker $237 for rent for the month. She said,

“He was real nice. He invited me to church and gave me a hug. I bragged on him to my family.”

Erica says the next day he called her and said,

“Hey, you didn’t tell me you was married to no black man.”

She responded telling him that she didn’t think it mattered to be honest. He went on to say,

“Oh, it’s a big problem with the members of my church, my community and my mother-in-law. They don’t allow that black and white shacking.”

She told him they weren’t shacking, they were married and his reply was “Oh, it’s the same thing.” Truly its none of this man’s business who Erica is married to. Baker returned the rent check that Erica gave him and she is currently moving to another park with higher rent. This is terrible.
