As Michelle Marks was outside walking and talking on the phone to her boyfriend, she spotted her killer who happened to be her ex-boyfriend. Lamont Wright shot Marks in her head near the park on Joralemon St. at 9:30pm on Monday.
Marks asked her boyfriend to call the cops just moments before her life was taken. She screamed,
“He’s here and he has a gun! Call 911!”
Marks’s mother, Pauline Marks, released a statement saying,
“He thinks he’s going to get away with this — he can run but he can’t hide. He may have gotten away last night, but he’s not gonna get away from God.”
Marks was leaving her job at the Fornino Pizza at Pier 6 in the famed waterfront park. This was around 9pm on Monday. Marks’s mother said,
“She was working and feeling really good about herself. She was making money and buying herself things. Her goal was to go to California. She had purpose… She had a plan.”
