A man from Taiwan commits suicide upon hearing his prison sentence for marijuana charges. Tyrel Martin Marhanka was on trial for drugs after he was arrested last year in April. Police found 200 cannabis plants, 195 dried cannabis plants and 10 opium poppies in a rented house.

Marhanka told police he grew the plants as a hobby. Thursday as the judge read his sentence and it was translated to him, Marhanka can be heard saying ‘Four years?’ Once the translator told him he would appeal the ruling he said, “I don’t want to appeal.”

Witnesses claim Marhanka then screamed “I don’t want to live anymore.” He then pulled out two pair of scissors, one in each hand and stabbed himself on both sides of his neck. He died 30 minuets into getting hospital treatment.
