Shaquille O’Neal previously said Stephen Curry is the best player in the league; is he having second thoughts?
Stephen Curry was not only the back-to-back MVP winner, this year he was also the first that was chosen unanimously. Only two other players came close but fell short by just one first-place vote, LeBron James in the 2012-13 season and Shaq in the 1999-2000 season.
Last night Shaq took to his Twitter account and posted a picture of himself wearing a shirt that said “THE REAL UNAMINOUS MVP”and captioned it “I’m just sayin…” I’ll get to the shade in a minute but first, it should say UNANIMOUS. Fans couldn’t help but point out the spelling error. You definitely should use spell check before printing something on a shirt to show 12.2 million followers.
Now aside from the spelling, the shirt is obviously taking a shot at Steph Curry. He was no doubt the MVP during the season but he regressed significantly during the Finals. Now in season MVP has nothing to do with the playoffs but people often use it in their judgement. Shaq obviously believes he shouldn’t have fell one vote short and should’ve been the first unanimous MVP.
