Defense attorney Bob Hinton currently represents Johnny Manziel but he might not for much longer after the bonehead move he made. Hinton accidentally texted the associated press, with a message that revealed how he felt in regards to Manziel staying clean as well as how much he recently spent on drug related paraphernalia.

Hinton claims he thought he was texting another lawyer and had no clue the text was received by the AP instead. They were seeking comment about Manziel’s recent hit&run incident and instead they received a much more interesting message.

Hinton said his team is seeking a plea deal in the Colleen Crowley domestic violence case and that the D.A. is “very interested in working with us to arrive at some agreement.” Hinton suggested Manziel would be in trouble if one of the terms of the plea deal included drug testing saying, “Heaven help us if one of the conditions is to pee in a bottle.”

He also wrote that he had been emailed a “heads up” receipt “which purports to reflect” that Manziel made a purchase of $1,018.77 at a Gas Pipe store at 12:03 p.m. on Tuesday, less than a day after his crash. He did say he wasn’t sure how legit the receipt was because Johnny’s name didn’t appear anywhere on it.

Regardless it’s clear to see Manziel has some very serious issues with drugs and alcohol and seems to have no priority to show NFL teams he is trying to clean his life up. Hopefully he gets things handled sooner rather than later.
