It’s pride in New York City. Marking the 46th Anniversary of the gay pride march, which began in 1970. There’s said to be a record number of attendees this year.

This year will be a very special year for participants and spectators during the New York City pride weekend. The crowds will be at an all time high. New York City is the home of the American gay rights movement. Tomorrow special tribute will be paid to the 49 lost lives from the Orlando gay nightclub massacre. Last year after the Supreme Court marriage equality ruling, recorded attendees was at 1.6 million. Last night a rally was held and participants received an orange headband to represent peace. The NYPD will be in full force this weekend making sure everything goes smoothly. Everyone be safe and have fun! Happy Pride .
