Bill Cosby just put his defamation lawsuit against supermodel Beverley Johnson on hold. According to reports, Cosby and his team of lawyers asked the judge to dismiss the defamation case against the supermodel. In the suit he claims she purposely slandered Cosby in order get people talking about her again. Cosby is currently dealing with the Andrea Constand case and simply can not focus on all the cases at one time. Cosby’s lawyers state however, once the Constand case is over with, the defamation suit will be refiled, before the statute of limitations runs out.

Janice Dickinson’s Defamation Lawsuit Against Bill Cosby’s Former Lawyer Gets Thrown Out
Janice Dickinson’s defamation lawsuit filed against Bill Cosby’s former lawyer, Marty Singer, has been thrown out. Dickinson filed the suit back in 2015 after Singer called a “liar” in response to a story she told during a 2014 television interview accusing Cosby of drugging and rapping her in 1982. Following the suit, Singer fired back with a anti-SLAPP motion, arguing his statements were free speech, not defamation. Tuesday, an L.A. judge dismissed the suit against Singer, however Dickinson’s layer Lisa Bloom remains optimistic. She said, “I think we’re going to prevail on the anti-SLAPP motion at the end of February,” adding, “Then the case will really begin in earnest with the depositions that we have sought with discovery and ultimately with the trial, where we’re very confident we will prevail. The primary focus of this case has always been against Bill Cosby and remains against Bill Cosby.” A hearing on Cosby’s anti-SLAPP motion is set for February 29th.

Former D.A. Called In An Attempt To Get Bill Cosby Sexual Assault Case Dismissed
Tuesday (February 2) Bill Cosby returned to court for a hearing regarding a promise made to him by former Montgomery County prosecutor, Bruce Castor. According to Cosby’s attorney, Castor promised Cosby would not be prosecuted in the case of Andrea Constand. If you recall, Cosby was charged with drugging and violating Andrea Constand, a former Temple University employee, at his suburban Philadelphia mansion. Castor took the stand explaining his reasons for making the deal. He said, “The lack of a prompt complaint and the [consequent] inability to gather forensic evidence from the home or from the person is one piece,” adding, “Contacting a civil lawyer before going to the police department” was another.
