NBA: Knicks & Nuggets Interested in Nate Robinson

Though he has been in the league for many years, Nate Robinson really made a name for himself when he put the shorthanded Bulls on his back during their playoff run last season.  Now a free agent Robinson has found himself without a team due to a slightly crowded backcourt (return of Rose) and his disagreements with coach Tom Thibodeau.  Still Robinson would be a good pickup for several teams looking for additional scoring and apparently the Nuggets and Knicks are interested.  Read more after the jump.

Sports: From Utter Shock to Disappointment in the Legal System, Athletes Respond to the Zimmerman Verdict

Jurors found George Zimmerman not guilty of second degree murder in the fatal shooting of 17-year old Trayvon Martin.  The six-member, all-women jury deliberated for more than 15 hours before handing down the decision that would shock the world.  Athletes throughout the sports world took to Twitter on Saturday night to express their feelings on the verdict.  Check it out after the jump.


NFL: Victor Cruz Says George Zimmerman Won’t Last a Year Before the Hood Catches Up to Him

The not guilty verdict in the George Zimmerman case left many people upset and confused, feeling let down by the justice system.  I noticed many people on twitter indicating that the “hood” would carry out justice and Zimmerman wouldn’t remain alive.  In fact Zimmerman’s lawyers and family members said several times that he received numerous death threats and is in fear for his life.  New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz seemed to share that sentiment and posted it to his twitter account.  Read more after the jump.


NFL: Roddy White Wants George Zimmerman’s Jurors to Kill Themselves

The not guilty verdict in the death of 17-year old Trayvon Martin ignited strong emotion in people all over the country.  George Zimmerman was able to walk free after pleading self defense in the shooting of Trayvon and the racially charged case led to many speaking out about their feelings including many athletes.  Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White is no stranger to speaking his mind but this particular tweet caused a riot on twitter.  Read more after the jump.
