Oscar nominee Johnny Depp is planning to add to his gangster-movie repertoire. According to sources, he has officially signed on to portray the infamous James “Whitey” Bulger in the biopic about his life; “Black Mass.” Bulger was once a Boston kingpin who later ratted to the FBI once authorities caught him. However, things went for worse once the relationship was tainted. Immediately after, he was declared as one of the FBI’s 10 most wanted fugitives where he would stay for 16 years, while on the run. It wasn’t until 2011 that he was caught, arrested, and eventually sentenced. Apparently, Depp was initially on bard for the project, but dropped out last spring. Check out why after the jump.
