Let’s get one thing straight: We’ll never complain about a new BMW 1 Series performance model, and on paper, this new-for-2013 135is sure seems like a total hoot. But you have to understand, we’re still mourning the loss of the 1 Series M Coupe, a one-year model that we absolutely fell in love with when it debuted last year. To quote BMW, the 135is is the “top performance model 1 Series for 2013,” and awesome as it may be, it just makes the 1M’s death seem all the more permanent. Le sigh. Funk Flex

Mercedes-Benz has rolled out a new video for its vicious C63 AMG Black Series. The 510-horsepower machine spends a little time frolicking through an industrial complex before taking to an open stretch of track for a little more fun. The entire clip is appropriately shot in black and white and set to the riotous tones of the hefty 6.2-liter V8 banging off the limiter. Not a bad way to blow two minutes of your day. Funk Flex
Auto Talk: Chevy won’t build Malibu coupe
A new report says General Motors has decided against producing a coupe version of the forthcoming 2013 Chevrolet Malibu. We don’t know how far into the development process a two-door Malibu made it, but renderings of the car were shown to journalists last week. When queried, however, GM design chief Ed Welburn told Inside Line, “A Malibu coupe could be a pretty nice car, but it is not in the plan right now.” Funk Flex
Auto Talk: Best View Yet Of Facelifted 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe
Hyundai is preparing to reveal the facelifted 2013 Genesis Coupe, and we now have what is perhaps our best look yet at the updated car’s Veloster-ified front fascia thanks to the folks over at Hyundai-Blog. We won’t see the final design until closer to the car’s 2012 Detroit Auto Show debut in January, but after plenty of camera phone shots and spy photos, we have no reason to believe that things will change much from what you see here.
