Joyce Mitchell Waives Her Right To A Trial For Helping Killers Escape

Joyce Mitchell, 51, waived her right to a trial Tuesday morning, after pleading guilty to charges of first-degree promoting prison contraband, a felony, and misdemeanor fourth-degree criminal facilitation, according to ABC News. The former Clinton Correctional Facility worker was arrested for her role in the escape of Richard Matt and David Sweat by smuggling hacksaw blades in frozen hamburgers, chisels, a punch tool and a screwdriver, which prisoners obviously used to break out.
