NBA: Criticism Rises For Jason Kidd As a Head Coach Veteran Scout Says ‘He Doesn’t Do Anything’

Before the monster trade that brought Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce to the Brooklyn Nets they did something else that shocked the league; hired Jason Kidd as the new head coach just days after he announced his retirement.  With five All-Stars on the team and what’s considered one of the deepest benches in the league, the expectations were high but so far they’ve failed to even come close.  Though they’ve been stricken with injury word around the league is, that first offseason decision is the cause of it all.


NBA: Jason Kidd Approached the Nets About Becoming Their Head Coach

Everyone was surprised the Brooklyn Nets hired Jason Kidd as their new head coach less than 10 days after his retirement from basketball and from their rival team the New York Knicks.  While many think the Nets reached out to Kidd to make it happen it turns out it was the other way around.

Atlanta Hawks head coach Michael Budenholzer was arrested last night for DUI, but he’s claiming that he was not drunk and has proof.  If indeed he was drunk, this is a horrible example he’s setting.  How many athletes have we gotten upset over because they were drinking & driving?!  SMH.  And the “proof” he has is not very convincing. NBA: Patrick Ewing’s Son Salty That Jason Kidd Was Named Brooklyn Nets Coach

I can understand why Patrick Ewing’s son isn’t happy about Jason Kidd getting the Nets head coaching job, he’s right…but that’s life.  I’d love to see Ewing as a head coach too – maybe something will happen with his new postition with the Bobcats??? NBA: Billy King Announces Why They Fired P.J Carlesimo & Lists Phil Jackson as a Possible Replacement

A mere 15 hours after the Nets were eliminated by the Chicago Bulls, P.J. Carlesimo is looking for a job.  General Manager Billy King surprisingly addressed the media on Sunday afternoon at PNY Center and said the interim head coach will not return after he went 35-19 in 54 games following the firing of Avery Johnson on Dec. 27.  Read more after the jump.
