NBA: Danny Granger & LeBron James Respond to Larry Bird’s ‘Soft’ Remark

Sabrina B. Larry Bird called the Indiana Pacers soft. His team agreed. LeBron James thought otherwise. Bird told The Indianapolis Star early Wednesday that he ”can’t believe my team went soft” after the Pacers were beaten 115-83 in Game 5 of an Eastern Conference semifinal series Tuesday night against the Miami Heat.

No athlete wants to be call the “S” word!  If you’re named the NBA’s Executive of the Year, is there no filter as to what you’re allowed to say about any team?  This is including your own team, by the way. Apparently that rule doesn’t apply to Larry Bird, who vented his frustration to reporters after the Pacers were annihilated by the Miami Heat in Game 5 on Tuesday as the series now shifts back to Indiana for a must-win situation.

In today’s NBA, players would rather be friends than rivals, which makes the relationship between the two former legends unique.
