NBA: Union Attorney Jeffrey Kessler Apologizes For Saying Players are Treated Like “Plantation Workers”

NBA: Yikes Stephon Marbury Goes In on Michael Jordan, Calls Him a Sellout!

Michael Jordan isn’t exactly a favorite amongst the players anymore.  As an owner of a small market team, the Charlotte Bobcats, Jordan is one of the owners demanding a paycut for players.  Jordan even went as low as saying the players should only get 37% of the BRI (Basketball Related Income), the players received 57% last season so thats a 20% cut.  Jordan also wanted to cut the length of contracts and a hard salary cap.  Since then he’s eased up a bit but he is still a leader in a faction of owners that want the players to get no more than 47% of the BRI.  Some players have lashed out against him including Nick Young and now former NBA player Stephon Marbury.  Read more after the jump. @Shay_Marie x @gametimegirl

NBA: Is Deron Williams Considering Leaving the Nets When the Lockout Ends?

If the lockout ever ends Deron Williams may not decide to stay with the New Jersey to soon to be Brooklyn Nets.  Williams is currently in Turkey playing for Besiktas.  His contract includes an NBA opt-out clause should the season resume.  His contract with the Nets also includes an opt-out after the 2011-12 season.  Williams seems unsure about his future plans.  Read more after the jump. @Shay_Marie x @gametimegirl


NBA: Deron Williams Goes Off About the NBA Lockout

After the lockout negotiations went downhill last night, many of the players had harsh reactions.  One of them was Deron Williams.  Since negotiations aren’t working many of the players are now seriously considering decertification.  The problem with decertification is it takes months to go through court litigation fighting anti-trust laws.  According to Williams he was ready to sign a petition to decertify way back in July, which would have been smarter.  Read what else he had to say after the jump. @Shay_Marie x @gametimegirl
