Drake Announces Dates For ‘Houston Appreciation Weekend’

Last month, Drake took to Instagram to reveal ‘Houston Appreciation Weekend’ with no further details, adding he’d announce the dates for the event in the near future. A month later, Drizzy has delivered. H-Town will be ablaze June 13-15th, though we still don’t know with who or what they’ll be doing. With Drake involved though, you know it’s going to be crazy! The Young Money superstar will follow HAW up with his 5th annual OVO Fest in his hometown of Toronto, going down the first weekend of August. More info and tickets for that one here.

(Photos) Drake Celebrates St. Patrick’s Day In Dublin With His Day Ones

While in town for his “Would You Like A Tour” show in Dublin, Drake visited a pub to celebrate St. Patty’s Day with some locals and his day one, OVO crew. The crew wore matching green shirts, and posted the entire turn up on Instagram! We’ve heard many rumors and seen MANY pictures of the rapper looking as if he is, yet again, dating Rihanna, but the singer was not seen celebrating the holiday alongside her boo. She headed back to the U.S. after spending quite a lot of time with Drake overseas. Drake’s tour will continue with another show at Dublin’s O2 Arena. Check out the gallery for more pics of Drizzy & his crew’s celebration!

Drake Announces ‘Houston Appreciation Weekend’

Drake has always had a deep appreciation for Houston, having lived there for a period of time before becoming a household name. In fact, it’s the city he met the man that would go on to give him the platform to change his life – Lil Wayne – and he pays homage to that exact day on the DJ Screw-sampled “November 18th” on So Far Gone. I mean, he even has an “H” tatted on his shoulder for the city! It’s quite the no-brainer then that Drizzy would come up with a way to celebrate his second home, taking to his Instagram to announce “Houston Appreciation Weekend” with the above image. He did not give further details, but added that he’d be announcing the dates soon. I’m sure the lineup will come soon as well, that will undoubtedly include his previous collaborator Bun B, as well as Paul Wall, Slim Thug and Trae Tha Truth. Who else do you think Drizzy will include…and do you think it will interfere with Trae’s annual ‘Trae Dae’ event?
