DJ Khaled recently brought his infamous ‘keys to success’ to one Miami middle school where he served as principal for the day. In partnership with the GetSchooled program, Carol City Middle School in Miami Gardens won the program’s highest attendance challenge awarding them with Khaled as their principal for one day. While taking over the school, DJ Khaled gave the students live performance of his hit record “All I Do Is Win,” and inspirational speech, and a live interview with MTV and Shade 45’s Sway Calloway. Miami native Flo Rida was the celebrity principal for the day at Miami Edison Middle School this week, a reward awarded to the pupils to celebrate their victory in the Get Schooled Diplomas Now Attendance Challenge. He was joined by rapper Ace Hood and Gorilla Zoe as the three recognized the enormous efforts of students and staff at the school. Just the night before, Mayor Oliver Gilbert presented the rapper with the first-ever key to the City of Miami Gardens, for his commitment to preparing South Florida Youth for success through his Florida Youth Football League and his various programs coordinated through his Big Dreams For Kids Charity. As part of the Get Schooled Celebrity Principals for the Day program, Kendrick Lamar took over a high school in Providence, Rhode Island for the day. The rapper spoke to about 1,000 students encouraging students to take their studies seriously saying, “Without education you don’t have anything,” In order for a celeb to take over the school, the school must earn a visit by meeting the Get Schooled National Attendance Challenge.
