NBA: League Says No NBA Team Coming to Seattle Any Time Soon

Since the Seattle Sonics were relocated and changed to the Oklahoma City Thunder, fans in Seattle have been begging to bring a franchise back to the city.  They tried to make it happen when the Sacramento Kings were up for sale and again with the Milwaukee Bucks, neither was successful.  This time the Mayor Ed Murray met with NBA commissioner Adam Silver to discuss the possibility of the NBA expanding and including a new Sonics team.  Unfortunately he was hit with another rejection.

NBA: Report, Former NBA Player Arrested After Home Invasion Attempt

Robert Swift’s story is one full of potential never filled because of a bad drug habit and apparently not much guidance once be became rich. Swift was drafted right out of high school about 10 years ago by the Seattle SuperSonics before they became the OKC Thunder, but most of you have never heard of him. That is because soon as he was drafted all his personal demons surfaced and he has since been arrested more than he actually scored points in the NBA.

NBA: Thunder Not Sure About Wearing Championship Jersey Patch Celebrating Sonics Title

The NBA came up with a new plan to include gold patches on the backs of jerseys commemorating historical championships beginning next season.  The plan didn’t make much sense because over half the teams in the league will wear them making them not very special and there’s one other problem.

(Photos) NBA: Still Mad? Seattle News Channel Refuses To Acknowledge Oklahoma City Thunder By Name

This is actually pretty funny. KIRO 7, a television station local to Seattle, Washington is refusing to address the OKC Thunder by their current name. They have vowed in fact not too mention them at all unless the reference is based on the old team. The Thunder moved from Seattle in 2008 when they obviously were called the Sonics. This station still holds a grudge. After the Thunder lost their game 1 matchup with the Clippers, the station covered the game like usual, but check out what they call the Thunder during the newscast.
