Both Joey Bada$$ and Lupe Fiasco dropped new albums this past Tuesday, B4.Da.$$ and Tetsuo & Youth, respectively. The first week sales projections are available, and it’s looking like it’s going to be a good week for the both of them! Hits Daily Double reports that Joey’s debut is on pace to sell between 50,000 and 55,000 physical units, and with streaming and single song sales in the equation, it should bring that number up to around 60k! This will most certainly secure the Pro Era rapper a spot in the top 10 on the Billboard 200, likely even the top 5! As for Lupe Fiasco, his fifth album is projected to sell between 30,000 and 35,000 physical units, 40k with SPS.

Lupe Fiasco is sometimes a ticking time bomb. You just never know when he’s going to blow, but it’s undeniable that the rapper has one of the best lyrical styles around. The prose from Lupe is the reason that he has groups like Annonymous tweeting to Atlantic Records, demanding that they announce a release date for the Chicago native’s album Tetsuo & Youth. No soon after hacking group threatened the label was the announcement made. “ou have 24 hours to present a statement announcing the immediate release of @LupeFiasco’s album,” they tweeted. “If you do not comply, we will launch a direct attach against your website, your associates, and your executives.” Now, we not only have the release date – January 20 – but we also have the track listing to go with it as well. Atlantic Records has been toying with Lupe Fiasco fans for months now in regards to the release of his fifth studio album entitled Tetsuo & Youth. However, the wondering is over! Lupe’s album will be released on January 20th, 2015. To hold fans over for the time being, Lupe announced that he’ll be releasing his Lost In The Atlantic Ocean mixtape soon (peep the name, get it?) Excited to check all his new music out!

Lupe Fiasco gave the crowd a little preview of his latest track with Chris Brown called “Crack” during a performance at the American University in Washington D.C. yesterday. The song will be the first single off Lupe’s upcoming album, Tetsuo & Youth. Neither the single or the album have an official release date, but be prepared for it to be dropping within the next few months.
