(Video) Rick Ross Reveals Wale’s Album Release Date

MMG artist Wale has had quite the drama-filled start to kick off his 2015 year, but it’ll hopefully all make his album sales sky-rocket. While chopping it up with Billboard this past Sunday at the Grammys, Maybach Music Group’s head honcho Rick Ross recently revealed that Wale’s forthcoming The Album About Nothing will be hitting shelves on March 31st, dubbing it “an incredible album.” In the quick interview, Ricky Rozay dishes how excited he is to be hitting the studio with Meek Mill after his prison stint and even adds he might have his own LP on the way, as well! Check out the full clip below of Rick Ross x Billboard! Will you be copping Wale’s album when it is released?

Album Release Date: Wale – The Album About Nothing

Wale’s been crafting his new project The Album About Nothing for some time now, the follow-up to his 2013 effort, The Gifted. Though the latter spawned the smash single “Bad” and an equally successful remix with Rihanna, we’ve yet to get a major one for this – but there’s still time! Taking to Twitter today, the MMG rapper revealed the project’s release date will be March 31. (He actually has been promoting this on Instagram for about a week, but I just caught on! Sorry guys!) Its current single, the Jeremih-assisted “The Body,” is picking up steam, and I’m sure we’ll get another by then. In the meantime, if you haven’t already – check out Wale’s latest mixtape, Festivus.

I’m not the biggest Wale fan – I personally don’t care for his music and I haven’t had the most positive personal encounters with him – but there’s no denying that he does some cool, creative sh*t. His music may not be for me, but I totally respect his marketing and concepts because they’re definitely a refreshing approach outside of the norm. Fresh on the heels of dropping his Festivus mixtape last week, Wale hosted an intimate art show in NYC last week, The Exhibit About Nothing. With Festivus playing in the background, the Eastmen Collective-curated event showed off art by Sue Tsai (who Wale helped bring international exposure to in 2013 with his “Bad” single artwork,) Naturel, JBF Customs, Jay West and more. It will run until January 5 if you want to check it out – the Lyons Weir Gallery in the Chelsea neighborhood in Manhattan. Check out a few pics from The Exhibit About Nothing in the gallery, and a video recap below. Wale’s The Album About Nothing drops March 31.
