When the horrible news broke yesterday that Rajon Rondo had a torn ACL in his right knee and will miss the remainder of the season, not only were Celtics fans upset – but so were athletes from around the NBA & NFL.  Check out some of the reactions and well wishes that were sent Rondo’s way…

The Boston Celtics beat the Miami Heat today 100-98 in a riveting double overtime match.  Earlier in the game we found out that the Celtics star point guard Rajon Rondo suffered a torn ACL and would be out for the rest of the season.  There was some disconnect between the media as we were told that the team was aware of Rondo’s condition.  Well it turns out only the coaching staff knew and the players weren’t aware yet.  After the win Doris Burke asks Paul Pierce how they’ll move on with this loss and by his reaction you can tell he’s finding out about it for the first time.  Check it out after the jump.

NBA: Coach Tom Thibodeau Says It’ll Be a While Before Derrick Rose Gets Contact in Practice

NBA: Knicks’ Iman Shumpert Targets January Return From Torn ACL

The Knicks defense started off red hot this year but the past couple games they’ve taken a slump.  One of their most defensive presence’s is guard Iman Shumpert who went out with a torn ACL during the game one of the playoffs last season.  We haven’t heard much about his recovery but he might finally have a return date in mind.  Read more after the jump.
