David Banner links up with Trinidad James for his new track, “A My.” He releases the track to hold fans over since he just announced that he will be pushing his upcoming album, “The God Box” back to August 19th. Listen after the jump.
Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’s “Uptown Funk” won two Grammy’s the other day for “Record of the Year” and “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.” Trinidad James was credited on the song due to the fact that his “All Gold Everything” was inserted in the hook. Unfortunately, this does not mean that James won a Grammy for the song.
Trinidad James is doing everything he can to stay relevant. After being dropped from Def Jam last year, the Atlanta rapper has basically reevaluated his career and has decided to take it into a new direction. James got lucky after Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars sampled his infamous lyric from “All Gold Everything” for their chart-topping hit “Uptown Funk.” Now he’s focused on reviving his career with a new book that will show the fans another side of him. After appearing on CNN earlier this week to debate the use of the n-word (particularly because of how much he used it in his breakout hit, “All Gold Everything,”) Trinidad Jame$ dropped by Hot 97’s Ebro In The Morning to delve into the issue some more. Trinidad James has been back in the headlines heavy lately over some newly sparked controversy after the release of the OU SAE video that caused endless drama. He found himself in the middle of a very heated debate on CNN regarding the usage of the “N” word in the Hip-Hop culture along with who should be able to say it. James explained that his main issues is with the college students and their degrading, hateful usage of the word. Needless to say, things got heated on the show. Though it may seem like an odd pairing, considering that the hook for the song is lifted from Trinidad James’ hit ‘All Gold Everything’, the Atlanta native adds his own spin to Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars ‘Uptown Funk’.
Trinidad James might have been dropped from Def Jam and lost his record deal but that isn’t stopping him from trying to find his perfect definition of a female in the Tri-State area. The “All Gold Everything” rapper took to his Twitter account to basically put out an ad seeking a chick (cheaper and less of a hassle than signing up for a dating sight, right?) Trinidad writes, “I need a NY girlfriend. Fly. Spanish. Black. White. Attitude ridiculous.
