Gucci went down in history yesterday for getting one of the most ridiculous tattoos the hip-hop world has seen. The man behind the tattoo, Shane Willoughby of ATL’s Tenth Street Tattoo, spoke to Vibe today about the whole situation.
“I was [hesitant] like ‘Are you sure you want to put that much [ink] in that area? He came straight to the counter and that’s where he pointed…. When [Gucci] said he wanted to do the ice cream thing I said ‘Well why don’t we do it somewhere else?’ But he was like I don’t have anywhere else.”
He also said Gucci was 100% sober when going under the needle. But that’s not to speak on his mental state, however. Gooch was recently released from Anchor Hospital in Atlanta for psychiatric evaluation. “I don’t think I’ll ever do [that] again… no matter how successful [the celebrity],” said Willoughby.
Gucci seems to be quite pleased with the outcome, though. “He was stoked. Had no regrets… was jumping up and down. That’s the way he rolls.”
