There are just 11 gas stations south of 96th St., Crains reported, with seven of those stations on 10th or 11th avenues.

And with the decrease in pumps have come higher prices, with the state average of $3.718 a gallon the fifth-highest in the nation.

It’s 11 cents higher in the New York City metropolitan area, where gas prices have jumped by more than 90 cents a gallon since 2010.

The Lukoil station at W. 13th St. and Eighth Ave. closed last month , while the ExxonMobil station at 61st St. and York Ave. shut down in January.

“I’ve no idea why stations are closing. I only know the impact on our drivers,” said Ethan Gerber, executive director of the Greater New York Taxi Association.

“It’s two issues: the rising prices of gas and the lower volume of gas stations. Unfortunately, they fit together.”
