A poorly planned company bowling party quickly runed a 23-year-old relationship between an Umpire School and The MLB.  Check the jump to see how this school REALLY messed uo!

So here it is!  One group of employees named their team “Klein’s Kleaning Krew” and entered the bowling alley wearing cones on their heads.  Another group of employee (three whites and one Latino) called their team “Boarder Patrol”.

Probably not the best idea.

The MLB severed its affiliation with Jim Evans Academy for Professional Umpiring after this little stunt.  Evans was a major league umpire for 28 years, and his Academy was one of two schools that sent students to the minor leagues. Without the affiliation the academy will have a hard time attracting new recruits.
